November 3, 2013 - Nate Winslow set a 20+ minute marathon personal best at the Monumental Marathon yesterday going 3:26:44 and earning his first Boston Marathon qualification
November 3, 2013 - Jaime Becker set a half marathon personal best time of 2:08:50 yesterday at the Monumental Half Marathon
October 30, 2013 - Mark Swart qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships with a P.R. finishing time and run split at the Miami 70.3 this weekend! He was 6th in the competitive 45-49 men’s age group, with a time of 4:23:12…this time would have won the 40-44 Age Group.
October 30, 2013 - Beth Lassus had a great result in her first attempt at off road racing last weekend. She placed 10th of 40 women at the 34 mile Lowell gravel road race.
October 21, 2013 - Joe Hysong finished the Indianapolis Marathon this past weekend, although he suffered cramps in the 2nd half of the race he still finished with a time of 4 hour and 31 minutes.
October 12, 2013 - Today Mark Swart again won the Masters division and placed 2nd overall, this time at the Vero Beach Half Marathon in 1:21:04.
October 7, 2013 - Mark Swart won the overall masters title and finished 2nd overall in 17:52 at the Jungle Club 5k.
October 7, 2013 - Joe Hysong finished up the tough Yankee Springs Xterra last weekend, good for 8th place in the 50-54 men.
October 2, 2013 - Zach did his 2nd race since breaking his femur, the Deer Creek Fall Challenge Olympic distance. He won overall in a time of 2:02:36. It was a good result given the very limited run training and mostly aerobic swim and cycle training he’s been doing.
September 30, 2013 - Mark Strasser, Dave Martin, Beth Goldsmith, and Jaime Becker all raced at the Fort 4 Fitness half marathon. Mark was 2nd of 126 finishers in the 50-54 men’s age group. Dave was 5th of 162 finishers in the 40-44 men’s age group. Jaime was feeling the effects of her first Ironman finish a few weeks ago, but still went on to finish pretty strong 2:18:36. Beth, after racing Ironman last weekend, had an easy day to finish with her dad(80+ division!).
September 30, 2013 - Joe Hysong continued his great progress over the last season at the Tri The Creek Olympic distance triathlon. He took 11th place overall, won the Clydesdale division, and had the 3rd fastest bike split on the day.
September 24, 2013 - Mark Swart finished 2nd overall and 1st Amatuer at PowerMan Florida on Sunday. Becawww!
September 24, 2013 - Jerry, Josh, Beth and Beth raced at Ironman Lake Tahoe last weekend. The freezing morning temperatures, cold water, cold daytime highs, and tough course made for a record number of DNF’s. Jerry fought back from his swim to finish top ten in the 55-59 age group. Josh lost a big chunk of time to a flat tire, but made it to the finish in the top 25% of the 40-44 age group. Beth G. had a good swim, but then had to deal with 3 flat tires on the bike. She managed to make it to mile 20 of the run before the freezing temps forced her into the medical tent with Hypothermia. Beth L. had very competitive swim and bike, but had to pull out with bad stomach pain once on the run.
September 9, 2013 - Jaime Becker finished her first Ironman distance at Rev3 Cedar Point yesterday in 14 hours and 21 minutes!
September 9, 2013 - Beth Goldsmith and Mark Strasser raced at the Rev3 half distance yesterday. Beth had a very good day in preperation for Ironman Lake Tahoe, finishing in 6 hours and 3 minutes. Mark had a huge personal best time of 4:49 for the half iron distance, winning the 50-54 men’s age group title.
September 9, 2013 - Dave and Nate raced at Ironman Wisconsin yesterday, both are seasoned triathletes and Ironman racers. Dave improved upon his 2012 finish at the race by 13 minutes(11:02 this year) to take 21st in the 45-49 mens age group. His only faster finishing time came at the flat and fast Ironman Florida course in 2011. Nate set a personal best time with a very well paced race, getting across the line in 11:50 (achieving our pre-season goal of sub 12 hours). This was also Nates 2nd fastest marathon ever, as he has raced multiple open marathons and Ironmans in the past.
September 9, 2013 - Mark Swart raced at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships yesterday. He had a solid race, right on par with his finishing time last year. With cooler temps this year the competition was strong and he placed 41st in the 45-49 men at the highly competitive race. Head down and focusing on Miami 70.3 now.
September 3, 2013 - Jack had his best race of the season at the Skinnyman sprint triathlon on Sunday. He was in the top third of the male 30-34 division, and top quarter of the overall finishers.
August 29, 2013 - Joe Hysong completed his goal of finishing his first Ironman, at Ironman Louisville last weekend. He made it across the line in the low 14 hour range, welcome to the Ironman club Joe :-)
August 21, 2013 - Jim and John both competed at Ironman Mont Tremblat last weekend. John had over a 20 minute personal best Ironman finish in 11:18:39. Jim fought hard to finish right at the 14 hour mark in the 50-54 men’s division. Congrats guys on finishing off a long season.
August 13, 2013 - Dave Martin finished in the top half of the 45-49 mens division at the highly competitive USAT National Championships on Saturday. Next up is Ironman Wisconsin.
August 13, 2013 - Jamie Kirgis won the 45-49 mens division at the Wawasee Kiwanis sprint triathlon on Saturday, and took 11th overall.
August 13, 2013 - Joe Livorsi placed 11th in the 45-49 mens division at the ITU Sprint Duathlon World Championships last weekend in Ottawa, Canada. This capped off a great season of racing for Joe.
August 6, 2013 - At the Steelhead 70.3 triathlon, a rough and slightly upstream swim slowed Jerry’s swim significantly. On land he again had a best ever(outside of clearwater) bike split of 2:23 and a near best ever run to take third in the 55-59 at 5 hrs flat. Kristen had a best ever time and placing, breaking 5 hrs by 3 seconds and taking 3rd in the 30-34 age group. She earned a Vegas spot, but decided not to take it.
August 6, 2013 - Jack continued his buildup to Ironman Florida at the Siesta Key olympic distance triathlon, where he won the 39 and under clydesdale division.
August 6, 2013 - Mark Swart won overall for the 2nd race in a row at the very hot Treasure Coast olympic distance triathlon with a time of 2:05. Next up for him is the Vegas 70.3 world chamiponships.
August 6, 2013 - Jeff placed 6th in the 30-34 age group at the Loggerhead sprint triathlon and 23rd overall of 500+ finishers. He’ll race next at the 2575 sprint triathlon championships.
July 24, 2013 - Nate Winslow had a good showing at the Racine 70.3 last weekend in his Ironman prep. He finished in a time of 5 hours 34 minutes, good for the top 1/3rd of the 40-44 men, and is on track for his goal at Ironman Wisconsin.
July 24, 2013 - Jaime Becker pulled of a double race weekend. Racing the KPC Sprint Saturday and the Buckhead Border Challenge Olympic Sunday. On Saturday she placed 7th of 18 in the Athena’s. On Sunday she was 2nd in the Athena’s, and missed breaking 3 hrs for the first time in an Olympic distance by 31 seconds.
July 16, 2013 - Joe Hysong finished the Caseville Half Ironman, official results haven’t been posted yet, and may not be. He managed to place in the top half of the small field, in what turned out to be a tougher than expected race with much of the run on soft beach sand. Great training for him in prep for Ironman Louisville!
July 15, 2013 - Joe Livorsi finished 4th overall(2nd amatuer), and first in the 45-49 age group on Saturday at the Moss Park duathlon.
July 14, 2013 - Beth Goldsmith and Kristen Ruble both finished the grueling 160 miles “Ride Across Indiana” yesterday in 9 hours and 20 minutes!
July 14, 2013 - Great day for 6 R.T.’ers who raced at the Muncie 70.3 yesterday. Jerry, at age 59, had a P.R. time on the course of 4:56, 2:25 bike split, and not far off his ‘outside of Clearwater’ half Ironman P.R. of 4:53(3rd in age group). Mark Strasser, despite losing atleast 10 minutes to a flat tire, finished under 5 hrs in the 50-54 age group(7th) for a best ever half Ironman finish. Josh Rexing had a 4:47 finish time in the 40-44 age group(20th), a few minutes off his best on the course. Beth Lassus had a 35 minute half ironman P.R. down to 5:23 in the 35-39 women(15th). Jamie Kirgis had a good return to the 70.3 distance after 6 years off from the longer races, not far off his personal best for the distance. John Van Alsburg had a good low 5 hr finish on the course, he’ll keep working towards Mont Tremblat in a months time.
July 8, 2013 - Jeff Chandler and Mark Swart raced at the Patriot 9.11 long course triathlon this past weekend in Fort Pierce, Florida. Mark pulled out the overall win, and Jeff took 4th overall with a win in his age group. Congrats guys!
July 2, 2013 - Dave, Beth G, Jaime B, and Kristen all raced at the popular Warsaw sprint triathlon last weekend. Beth won the 50-54 womens age group, Kristen won the 30-34 women’s age group, Jaime won the Athena age group, and Dave narrowly missed winning his age group(11 seconds) to place 2nd in the 45-49 Mens.
June 20, 2013 - Just 3 days after winning his age group at an Xterra race, John raced the local ‘Triceratops’, Wednesday night sprint triathlon in Michigan. With tired legs he still managed to finish 19th of 426 finishers, and bettered his previous best on the same course by 6 minutes; down from 1 hour 14 minutes to 1 hour 8 minutes.
June 18, 2013 - John and Joe H had good showings at the Xterra Torn Shirt Triathlon. John won the 45-49 age group, and had the 2nd fastest bike split on the day. Joe finished 4th in the 50-54 age group and got over the nutrition issues he had at his last olympic distance race. Nice work guys.
June 17, 2013 - Jeff C finsihed 13th overall at the Heartland Olympic triathlon despite having muscle cramps most of the run. He’ll keep working towards late summer races, and possibly a half Iron distance in the fall.
June 14, 2013 - Dave Martin had a good early season showing at the Grand Rapids Half Ironman this past weekend. He was 4th in the 45-49 age group and 19th overall. He’ll now focus on his late summer goal of Ironman Wisconsin. Jim Bodine also raced strong in the 50-55 age group, he’ll continue to work hard towards his own Ironman goal of Mont Tremblat.
June 11, 2013 - Kristen was 2nd overall at the Muncie June olympic triathlon last weekend. Great job little dog!
June 9, 2013 - Jack had his first triathlon finish of the season at the Clermont Sprint Triathlon. It was a good start in his quest for Ironman Florida. He gained experience and learned from a few mistakes. Good work Jack.
June 2, 2013 - John set a 5 minute half marathon p.r. this weekend at the Dextor Ann Arbor, Half Marathon. His previous best was also on this course. Next up for him are the Torn Shirt Xterra and Muncie 70.3.
May 23, 2013 - 5 RT’ers raced the challenging Triple T Triathlon over the weekend. (3 days, 4 triathlons). This race typically draws some of the best triathletes in the midwest b/c of it’s demanding format, and hilly course. Jerry placed 2nd of 26 finishers in the 50 and over age category. Josh placed 9th of 50 finishers in the 40-49 age category. Jamie was racing strong thorugh 3 races, but medical issues forced him to drop on the final day. Beth L placed 15th of 31 in the 24-39 age category. Beth G placed 7th of 10 in the 50 and over age category. Some great results!
May 23, 2013 - John VA had a promising start to Xterra Fort Custer, but a broken rear derailluer ended his race early during what as turning out to be a very good ride.
May 23, 2013 - Joe H raced the Pokagon Olympic Triathlon last weekend. Joe managed to cut a minute of his 2012 swim time, and nearly 4 minutes off his bike split from 2012. A few GI issues slowed his run, but he still had 3′ improvement from last years race. Great job Joe!
May 23, 2013 - Joe L raced the Orange County Duathlon this past weekend in California. Despite coming from Florida, and being unprepared for difficult climbing and descending on the course, Joe managed 35th place of 175 finishers. Great race Joe!
May 6, 2013 - Beth L. set a 14 minute personal half marathon best this past weekend at the Indy Mini Marathon. Her time of 1:43:03 placed her 63rd of 2280 women in her age group. Great start to the season Beth!
May 6, 2013 - Joe L. won overall last weekend at the Longboat Key Duathlon. This was Joe’s first overall Duathlon win, it shows his consistent hard work is paying off!
May 6, 2013 - John finished the brutal Cohutta 100 mile mountain bike race last weekend as a ‘fun’ training day. The course had more than 13,000 feet of climbing, rain and cold temperatures that led to a large number of DNF’s in all race distances. Now to the triathlon season!
April 22, 2013 - Jerry finished the 50 mile race (running) at the Indiana Trail 100 event this past weekend. It took place at Chain of Lakes State Park in Albion, IN. Jerry finished high in his age group and took a little over 11 hours to complete the race….he’s back training normally again after one week. That may be more of a feat than finishing the race itself, which was his first of that distance.
April 10, 2013 - Joe Livorsi had a great race this past weekend at the Double Oak Duathlon(formerly Powerman Alabama). He finished a close 2nd overall in the masters division. His finish qualified him for the age group duathlon world championships later this year!
April 10, 2013 - Joe Hysong set a personal best time at the 70.3 distance this past weekend. He raced at the Galveston 70.3 and executed his plan perfectly to set a best swim, bike, run and overall time. Great start to Joe’s triathlon season!
March 25, 2013 - John Van Alsburg finished 11th of 90 finishers in the narrowed 43-44 Men’s age group this past weekend at the Barry Roubaix 36 mile road race. Great finish for a competitive early season race in Michigan.
March 11, 2013 - Joe Livorsi won his age group and finished 2nd overall last weekend at the Wildman Sprint Duathlon. Next he’ll try and qualify for the World Duathlon Championships at the Double Oak sprint duathlon on April 6th.
March 10, 2013 - John V.A. finished the Shamrock 5k this weekend. He finished in 5th overall place, a good training race for the early season.
March 4, 2013 - Josh escaped! He braved the tough conditions and cold water at his first Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon this past weekend. He was 24th of 271 finishers in the 40-44 age group.
February 25, 2013 - Kevin had a great training day at the Polar Bear 3 mile + 5 mile doubler over the weekend, finishing 10th and 22nd in his age group in each race.
February 17, 2013 - Joe Hysong dropped his Half Marathon time from 1 hour 58 minutes to 1:50:43 this past weekend at the Ice Cube Half Marathon in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. His time was good enough for 62nd place of the 220 finishers.
February 4, 2013 - Joe Livorsi won the 40-44 age group at the Chilly Willy Duathlon(of 58 finishers) and was 15th overall (of 517 finishers). Great start to his season, and an improvement on last years result for him at this same race.
January 20, 2013 - Josh Rexing set a personal best marathon time today of 3:12:24 at the Rock ‘n Roll Arizona Marathon. His time qualified for him for his first Boston Marathon! Way to go Josh!
December 31, 2012 - Jerry, Joe H, and Jamie K competed at the HUFF Trail Run this past weekend. The trails were covered with fresh snow and ice. Jerry finished the 50km race for the 3rd straight year taking 4th place in the 55-59 age group. His time was 90 seconds faster than 2011, so a good start to his 2013 season. Joe continued his great progress into 2013 by racing the one loop 10.5 mile race, finishing in 6th place in the 50-54 age group. Jamie ran half of the 50km race as a training run, his longest run since training with Zach. He also continues to make great progress towards 2013.
December 4, 2012 - Dave and Josh finished the Las Vegas Marathon and Half Marathon this past weekend. They both finished well on the day in the very windy conditions. In the marathon Dave was 23rd in the 40-44 age group, and 148th overall of the 3233 finishers. In the 1/2 marathon Josh was 20th in the 35-39 age group and 146th overall of 22 thousand+ registered. Next for Josh is the Arizona Rock n’ Roll marathon held in January 20th in Phoenix, AZ.
November 25, 2012 - Nermin finished at Ironman Cozumel this past weekend. Despite coming from northeast Canada for this warm late season race, he raced fairly well. Nermin ended up with a 10:51 finishing time, good for 47th place among the 300+ starters in the male 35-39 age group.
November 25, 2012 - Joe H, Josh, Jaime, and Diana all raced in Turkey Trot races over the holiday. Joe raced well for being a new athlete with Zach at the Galloping Gobbler 4 miler. He had a personal best time of 30 minutes. Diana won the masters division in the 8 mile Galloping Gobbler race. Josh and Jaime were at the “6 Tunnels to Hoover Dam Turkey Trot”. Josh went into recently uncharted territory by testing his speed at a 5k road race. He finished near 19 minutes and in won his age group and placed 6th overall. Jaime also finished the race near her personal best with a 29 minute finishing time.
October 13, 2012 - Earlier this year Mark completed his goal for the last 3 years of qualifying for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. This past weekend he capped off a great season by finishing the race in Kona. A month prior to Kona he finished at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, which he qualified for in early 2012. Kona was his 3rd Ironman of the year, along with 2 races at the 70.3 distance. Congratulations Mark on some great achievements this year!
October 5, 2012 - Diana won the masters division and was 4th female overall at the 16 mile WOOF Trail run held in Bluffton, IN this past weekend.
September 30, 2012 - Jerry, Mark, and Diana all ran at the Fort 4 Fitness half marathon. It was a training day for Mark. Jerry had a great run with a 1:35:58 and Diana finished very well with a 1:44:21 to place 4th among the 45-49 women.
September 18, 2012 - Jerry finished 4th in the 55-59 age group at the challenging Savageman Half Ironman. He was withing 1 minute of his 2010 time, on a windy day. Not bad for a guy who should be getting slower with age.
September 17, 2012 - Joe Livorsi returned to racing with an overall win in the Sprint Duathlon at the Moss Park Fall Triathlon Festival. Joe will race again in two weeks at the Fort Desoto Sprint Duathlon.
September 10, 2012 - Zach and Ken raced over the weekend in the Rev3 Cedar Point Full Distance Triathlon and Half Distance Relay events. Ken did the 56 mile bike leg of the Half distance relay and held a personal best wattage for the distance. Ken’s next race will be a 120 mile event in late September. Zach finished 8th overall in the full distance race, despite a very questionable 4 minute penalty he recieved on the bike leg of the race. He’ll now focus the rest of his season on the Miami 70.3 and Ironman Cozumel.
September 9, 2012 - Diana Schowe finished as the 2nd female overall at the Mighty Mississenewa Sprint Triathlon last weekend. She had the fastest bike split on the day for the women and a solid overall race.
September 9, 2012 - Mark, Josh, and Kristen all raced at the 70.3 Wolrd Championships in Las Vegas. With Josh and Mark coming off such big buildups to Ironman Louisiville 2 weeks prior it was going to be tough to be on top form for this race. Each of them finished respectively on a day that saw temperatures over 100 degrees. Mark will now focus his energy on racing the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii in 4 weeks. Josh will begin his much needed offseason after two Ironman and three 70.3 races this season. Kristen, coming off her top race of the year at the Steelhead 70.3, really suffered in the heat(like many athletes out their) but managed to complete her goal making it to the finish line. Congrats to all 3 of them for qualifying for this event!
August 27, 2012 - Jerry, Josh and Mark all raced in hot temperatures at Ironman Louisville. The guys all had a plan to race conservatively and not meltdown in the heat. Mark had an amazing run and moved up 23 places to finish 5th in the 40-44 men(with 460 registered athletes). He earned his first Kona spot with this performance. He’ll be competing in the World Championship races in Vegas and Kona this year. Jerry had maybe his best Ironman performance ever and finished 3rd in the 55-59 age group, just missing his spot for Hawaii. Josh once again performed well and finished 43rd of 350+ registrants in the 35-39 age group, just shy of his personal best Ironman time on a very hot day. He’ll be joining Mark to race in Vegas in 2 weeks
August 27, 2012 - Jim made it to the finish line in what we might call a “vacation race” at Ironman Canada. Congrats on another Ironman finish Jim.
August 27, 2012 - Diana raced at the competitive Chicago Olympic Triathlon. She ended up 3rd in the 45-49 age group, and 15th ametur woman overall. She had a good swim, a fast 24 mph average on the bike, and a decent run. It wasn’t quite as good as we hoped on the run, but her time would be top 3 in every female age group yesterday.
August 20, 2012 - Nermin raced at Ironman Mont Tremblant and had a personal best by 20 minutes (10:17:21) on a hillier course than his previous best (at Ironman Louisville). This was Nermins 11th Ironman, and 1st with Zach. His major improvement this race came on the run where he ran 15 minutes faster than at Louisville last year. The next race for him will be Ironman Cozumel.
August 20, 2012 - Kristen and Zach raced at the Steelhead 70.3. Kristen placed 5th in her age group after an AG best swim and 2nd best bike. Zach finished 3rd overall, and showed some small progress back to better racing form.
August 12, 2012 - Diana won the Wawasee Kiwanis sprint triathlon overall in womens race, and was 4th including the men. She improved by 1.5 minutes over last years winning time and had the fastest bike split (men included this year). The run this year was increased by .2 miles, and she still managed a faster run split this year.
August 11, 2012 - Kevin raced at the hilly Columbus Challenge olympic triathlon and showed more improvement across the board. His overall finishing position is now right at the upper 50% mark. His swim was strong again, his power numbers have increased dramatically on the bike, and he ran his fastest pace this season on the run.
August 6, 2012 - Nermin raced a local half Ironman in the Nova Scotia area as a training race for Ironman Mont Tremblat. He managed to cut 6 minutes off of last years finishing time despite having only a few days rest for the race.
July 31, 2012 - Ken raced a triathlon aquabike and took part in a MS 100 mile ride over the course of the last two weeks. Both events went well with Ken holding a high wattage relative to his FTP at both the 100 mile ride and sprint distance bike leg of the aquabike. Ken will continue to work on his swim for future aquabike races.
July 23, 2012 - Diana competed at the State 40k Time Trial and rode a 1:01:56 for a 24 mile per hour average, and won her division.
July 15, 2012 - Diana trained through and won the KPC Sprint Triathlon overall, and bettered her overall winning time from last season to improve her course record there.
July 15, 2012 - Kevin raced at the challengin Buckhead Border Challenge olympic triathlon and showed a marked improvement since racing a month ago at the Muncie Man race. His power numbers went up on the bike, he ran a faster pace, and his overall position improved in his age group.
July 8, 2012 - Josh, Jerry, Jim, and Kristen raced the Muncie 70.3 this past weekend. The race was shortened b/c of 100+ degree temperatures. Kristen was able to get a 70.3 world championship spot! Jerry had a great race and placed 3rd in the 55-59 AG, about 2 minutes from winning. Josh had a strong day placing 20th of 231 in the 35-39 age group, and Jim made it across the finish line after expecting to only swim and bike.
July 5, 2012 - Ken competed at the Medina Sizzler Time Trial and showed a big improvement in wattage to finish strong in the 27.5 mile race.
June 23, 2012 - Josh ran the Summerlin Half Marathon as a training race and placed 5th Overall.
June 11, 2012 - Diana got another victory by winning overall at the River City Sprint tri (coming from the Masters Division) and outsplit last years swim, run, and overall time
June 10, 2012 - Kevin raced at the Muncie Man triathlon over the weekend and completed his goal of finishing the race. This race marked the beginning of his comeback to serious racing after time off and rehab following a bike accident. Up next is the Boarder Challenge Olympic in July, with the Iron Distance later this season.
June 10, 2012 - Jamie K competed at the Michigan Mayhem 100 mile ride over the weekend and despite a rough day and training through the even he placed 61st of 245 riders.

May 23, 2012 - Jamie K. cut nearly an hour off of his best time at the “Assault on Mt. Mitchell” ride this week. The ride is 75 miles with over 7500 feet of climbing. Great first race for Jamie for 2012.
May 21, 2012 - Diana was 2nd overall, 1st in the Masters Division, and 1st in her Age Group at the Pokagon Olympic Triathlon. Great start to her season despite some setbacks this spring.
May 21, 2012 - Ironman Texas was this past weekend. With hot temperatures and high humidity the guys from up north had their hands full, but they raced smart and limited their losses. Jerry was 3rd in the 55-59 despite two flat tires…he missed the Kona spot by one place(7′). Mark was 14th in the 40-44, moving up 10 places on the run in the largest age group in the race. Josh had a good swim, best bike yet, and fought through stomach problems on the run to finish 58th in the 35-39. Jim completed his goal of finishing with a strong swim and bike, and didn’t give up on the run. He’ll look to work on fitness over the summer for later races.
